Natural Everyday Makeup

So, I am definitely no makeup artist or anything close to the sort. However, I still love beauty and being put together so I’ve come to create a few go to looks that I have mastered well. One of my favorites is the glowing, all natural style!
To get this look, it’s actually quite simple. The eyeshadow is quick, using a shimmery nude all over and a bit of light brown on the crease. The lashes really make the difference though! I used Ardell Demis and lined my lash line to amp of the volume.

I always use Anastasia Beverly Hills products on my brows. First, start off with the brow pencil and then set with the duo powder and clear gel. Check out my post from months ago to see my brow tutorial.

Today, I used the Makeup Forever Matte Velvet foundation, which I have been using forever because it is my favorite. After blending it throughly with a beauty blender, I begin my highlight and contour.

I use a NARS bronzer to contour and Smashbox liquid concealer to highlight. My cheeks are dusted with Snow Leopard from Too Faced as well as NARS Orgasm. I finish off the skin by highlighting with Becca Moonstone and MAC finishing powder.
I normally weat matte lippys, but today I opted for a dewy look, leading me to a gloss. I statted with Pure Hollywood Matte lipstick then went over it with a nude gloss from Makeup Forever.

This look is really easy to achieve and perfect for a natural looking glow this summer. There’s no better time of year to pack on that highlighter! Again, I’m no makeup artist but I love getting glam!

Public House 310

Public House is great for drinks after work or a casual date night. It’s nothing fancy, but has a unique vibe and a surplus of beer selections as well as house cocktails that are worth a try! We ordered a few dishes for the table and between the two of us, it was plenty! The fried cauliflower was the absolute best. It came with a side of bleu cheese and hot sauce, definitely making it feel like a healthier version of hot wings, just as tasty though. We also ordered the chorizo mac and cheese, which was filled with kale as well. I am not a huge kale fan and the cheese wasn’t as ooey-gooey as I would have liked, so I wouldn’t get this dish again. The calamari is a must because it is literally fried to perfection and comes with this yummy little dipping sauce that brings everything together. I’m not sure if I am the only one who appreciates more rings than tentacles in my calamari ratio, but if you are like me, you’ll love it! The appetizers range from $7-$10 each. The crushed velvet cocktail was $10 and delicious! It is made with fresh crushed blueberries and blackberries, mixed with vodka. It is super tasty, especially for those of you who don’t love that overwhelming alcohol taste. It’s sort of their version of a moscow mule, with hints of lavendar that make the drink really unique. Happy Hour “Recess” is from 4pm-7pm but only at the bar. You’ll definitely need a reservation if you come later in the evening, especially on weekends. This place is always crowded! They also have cute outdoor seating in the front, which is nice for those warmer evenings and sunny spring afternoons.

I recently went to Republique in West Hollywood for the first time and it is definitely a new favorite of mine. The interior atmoshphere is so gorgeous and antique style, with beautiful sky lights and amazing tile floors!

I ordered a Hong Kong Tea Latte that I really enjoyed. It was sweet, but not too sweet and definitely a unique drink you can’t find at any coffee shop. Republique makes all of their own ingredients, so you won’t find any over processed syrups here, thank goodness! As usual, I couldn’t resist something smothered in ricotta, so I opted for the ricotta, honey, and pistachio toast. This might sound like a simple dish, but it tasted so rich and fresh, perfect for a healthy breakfast that hits the spot! I honestly want to make this for my breakfast every morning because it such a great combination. The granola and yogurt was also really unique, with homemade “granola” which consisted of nuts and a nice crunchy mix to offset the smoothness of the yogurt.

Republique is a great option for breakfast or brunch on the go as well since they have a complete bakery that you can just order to go. They have so many delicious options that you’ll definitely want to go back again to try something new!

Valentine’s Day ❤️

Hope everyone had a magical Valentine’s Day! After a spontaneous change in plans, my love and I decided to spend the day in Manhattan Beach and enjoy our favorite steak dinner in Woodland Hills. I kept it casual this year in my favorite, leather. Leather at the beach? Yep, that’s me!

Rainy Day Vibes||

I’m not a huge fan of this rainy weather and all the gloom, so naturally I try to ignore it as much as possible. Wearing skirts and heeled booties in the rain? Obvious choice of course. Never let that cold weather keep you from dressing nice!

Sephora Haul 12.17.14

I recently purchased a few of my favorite products as well as a few new ones from Sephora! A review will be coming very soon!

Okay, I am so excited to announce that I finally got my BLACK beauty blender! I have been obsessing over it for some weird reason. I guess I just don’t enjoy pink as much. I’m sure it works just as well as the pink one, which I would highly recommend to you all! Don’t worry about the color because the beauty blender will do your face more justice than any brush or knockoff sponge.

I also purchased the green, latex free DUO eyelash glue, which I have heard marvelous things about. I have only used the original DUO glue, so I am excited to try this one out since it is a different formula with a brush on applicator.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer is a product I have been using for awhile as a foundation base for oily skin. Obviously, since I bought more, it is a favorite of mine. I bought two mini sizes because I prefer those for traveling, versus the larger one. The minis are $18 each while the full size is $52 and holds three time the amount of product as the mini.

My Anastasia Brow Whiz a must, of course. However, I opted for medium ash instead of caramel because I feel it may compliment my hair and skin tone better. So, the review of this new color is soon to come.

I also received some awesome freebies! The Versace Yellow Diamond Perfume has refreshing floral notes, which I personally am not the biggest fan of when it comes to fragrances. The Glam Glow brightmud eye treatment is something I am looking forward to trying to brighten the eyes and rid of those lines and dark circles. The Dr Jart dis-a-pore beauty balm is meant to diminish pores and such, but if you refer to one of my previous posts, the Nip and Tuck Glycolic Serum has already done wonders as far as that problem. Finally, the Hourglass Illusion Skin Tint is an oil free cream you can throw on quickly as an alternative to full on foundation. I will be sure to post a review of all the great products from this haul so stay tuned!

The idea of a “gastropub” was really intriguing, which is one of the reasons I decided to give this place a try! Industrial wooden tables and metal accents surround you while you’re enjoying an incredible meal at one of LA’s best. Messhall Kitchen is right off of Los Feliz and conveniently has valet, since the street parking is usually packed. I went for their weekend brunch, in which they have been voted as one of the best restaurants to brunch in Los Angeles.

I ordered the Messhall Benedict, which was a delightful mix of smoked ham, poached eggs, hollandaise all on a perfectly crisp english muffin. The hollandaise was slightly acidic, with a tiny kick of spice, and overall very creamy, making it the perfect hollandaise. It came with a side of fruit and cost $13 total, which is a decent price for the amount of food you get!

They have a full bar and completely different weekday lunch and dinner menu with plenty of options to try! Definitely a must

Another plus? Rob Scheppy (Celebrity makeup artist and Kardashian guru) was sitting just across the way from us. I love those LA moments when it just hits you that you are living in LA amongst Hollywood’s rich and famous, where dreams come true.
