Public House 310

Public House is great for drinks after work or a casual date night. It’s nothing fancy, but has a unique vibe and a surplus of beer selections as well as house cocktails that are worth a try! We ordered a few dishes for the table and between the two of us, it was plenty! The fried cauliflower was the absolute best. It came with a side of bleu cheese and hot sauce, definitely making it feel like a healthier version of hot wings, just as tasty though. We also ordered the chorizo mac and cheese, which was filled with kale as well. I am not a huge kale fan and the cheese wasn’t as ooey-gooey as I would have liked, so I wouldn’t get this dish again. The calamari is a must because it is literally fried to perfection and comes with this yummy little dipping sauce that brings everything together. I’m not sure if I am the only one who appreciates more rings than tentacles in my calamari ratio, but if you are like me, you’ll love it! The appetizers range from $7-$10 each. The crushed velvet cocktail was $10 and delicious! It is made with fresh crushed blueberries and blackberries, mixed with vodka. It is super tasty, especially for those of you who don’t love that overwhelming alcohol taste. It’s sort of their version of a moscow mule, with hints of lavendar that make the drink really unique. Happy Hour “Recess” is from 4pm-7pm but only at the bar. You’ll definitely need a reservation if you come later in the evening, especially on weekends. This place is always crowded! They also have cute outdoor seating in the front, which is nice for those warmer evenings and sunny spring afternoons.

I recently went to Republique in West Hollywood for the first time and it is definitely a new favorite of mine. The interior atmoshphere is so gorgeous and antique style, with beautiful sky lights and amazing tile floors!

I ordered a Hong Kong Tea Latte that I really enjoyed. It was sweet, but not too sweet and definitely a unique drink you can’t find at any coffee shop. Republique makes all of their own ingredients, so you won’t find any over processed syrups here, thank goodness! As usual, I couldn’t resist something smothered in ricotta, so I opted for the ricotta, honey, and pistachio toast. This might sound like a simple dish, but it tasted so rich and fresh, perfect for a healthy breakfast that hits the spot! I honestly want to make this for my breakfast every morning because it such a great combination. The granola and yogurt was also really unique, with homemade “granola” which consisted of nuts and a nice crunchy mix to offset the smoothness of the yogurt.

Republique is a great option for breakfast or brunch on the go as well since they have a complete bakery that you can just order to go. They have so many delicious options that you’ll definitely want to go back again to try something new!

The idea of a “gastropub” was really intriguing, which is one of the reasons I decided to give this place a try! Industrial wooden tables and metal accents surround you while you’re enjoying an incredible meal at one of LA’s best. Messhall Kitchen is right off of Los Feliz and conveniently has valet, since the street parking is usually packed. I went for their weekend brunch, in which they have been voted as one of the best restaurants to brunch in Los Angeles.

I ordered the Messhall Benedict, which was a delightful mix of smoked ham, poached eggs, hollandaise all on a perfectly crisp english muffin. The hollandaise was slightly acidic, with a tiny kick of spice, and overall very creamy, making it the perfect hollandaise. It came with a side of fruit and cost $13 total, which is a decent price for the amount of food you get!

They have a full bar and completely different weekday lunch and dinner menu with plenty of options to try! Definitely a must

Another plus? Rob Scheppy (Celebrity makeup artist and Kardashian guru) was sitting just across the way from us. I love those LA moments when it just hits you that you are living in LA amongst Hollywood’s rich and famous, where dreams come true.

Fig & Olive| West Hollywood

So I’ve wanted to go to Fig & Olive for some time now and finally I did! I went for an early lunch on a weekend. I must say the ambience was so cozy yet chic. There was lots of natural lighting and natural greenery accents throughout the restaurant. There is conveniently valet at the door which is always a plus in WeHo. But lets talk about the food…

So we started off with blood orange mimosas which were pretty impeccable. Can you really go wrong with a mimosa though?

Our waitress brought us out the complimentary bread and olive oils from Italy and Spain. The bread was very light and airy with lots of flavor when dipped into the oils. Overall, a very nice start to the meal.

Then we got the crostini appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. We got the following three:
•Prosciutto, Ricotta, Fig, Olive, Walnut
•Manchego, Fig, Marcona Almond
•Mushroom, Artichoke, Scallion, Parmesan

All were tasty but the prosciutto with ricotta was easily my favorite!

I also got the fig & olive salad. I’ll admit it was just a simple salad that lacked dressing but was nonetheless okay. Next time I will definitely try something other than a salad and indulge in their infamous apple tart.

So would I recommend it? Ofcourse! Fig and Olive is definitely worth a try.

Dinner @ Urth Caffe WeHo

My most recent outing to Urth Caffe WeHo consisted of a healthy meal and sweet dessert! Urth is one of my favorite places in LA, from the unique menu, perfect coffees, decadent desserts, and the cozy atmosphere.

Lattes are always my go to drinks but I also tried an espresso macchiato. Both were great of course! I suppose I was too hungry to snap a pic of the Mediterranean platter and sprout sandwich I ordered. I would definitely recommend the platter for a meal on the lighter side, with great variation,  and a unique taste! The best part of the meal was the NY cheesecake. I’m a tad addicted to cheesecake and I can say that this is hands down one of the most delicious ones I have ever  had.

P.S. The fact that Kylie Jenner is a regular here, well that doesn’t hurt either!

Ready For Abduction

I absolutely fell in love with this gruesome skirt I spotted from a boutique in Beverly Hills! My cropped,  red, leather jacket is a perfect match with this high waisted skirt. The jacket, as well as my black crop top, were both purchased from the Saavy section of Nordstrom. I topped the look off with my Miu Miu strappy heels and my favorite Celine bag ofcourse. This skirt will definitely be one of my favorite summer pieces!

Intelligentsia Coffee: LA

Sweet Lattes from Intelligentsia Coffee are the best!

Fun music, friendly baristas, and tasty drinks…what more could you want from a coffee shop? The Venice location on Abbot Kinney is my fave. Make a day out of it by checking out the adorable boutiques and restaurants Abbot Kinney has to offer!
